Dr Chin Yong is a Certified Urogynaecologist and Female Pelvic Floor Reconstruction Surgeon practices in both public and private hospital. In 2016, he joined the Royal Women’s Hospital Pelvic Floor Unit in and completed three year subspecialty training in Urogynaecology. His main practice is based at Epworth Freemasons Hospital, East Melbourne. He also consults at Frances Perry House and Jean Hailes East Melbourne. Dr Yong is a member of multidisciplinary Pelvic Pain Service at Frances Perry House.
Dr Yong main clinical interest focuses on conservative and surgical management of pelvic floor disorders. He offers minimally invasive surgery such advanced laparoscopic or robotic pelvic floor reconstruction options to his patients.
Apart from clinical appointments, Dr Yong is also actively involved in clinical education and research projects focusing on conservative management and native tissue surgical correction for pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. He provides medico legal expert opinions for IIME in birth related trauma, pelvic floor disorders and general gynaecology issues. Dr Yong is affiliated with a number of
professional association including Urogynaecology Society of Australasia (UGSA), International Urogynaecology Association (IUGA, International Continence Society (ICS) and Australian Medical Robotics Academy (AMRA).
