Mr Ash Moaveni is a Melbourne based upper limb Orthopaedic Surgeon, with interest in shoulder, elbow and wrist surgery.
After completing his specialist orthopaedic training program, Mr Moaveni completed a wrist fellowship with the Pulvertaft Hand Centre (England) followed by a shoulder and elbow fellowship at HULC (Canada). He is currently based at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, East Melbourne and the Alfred. He also consults at Mitcham and Knox Private Hospitals. He is regularly involved in the management of patients with severe upper limb trauma through the Alfred and is a member of the Specialist Orthopaedic Clinical Advisory Group for the Department of Health.
Mr Moaveni is actively involved in research projects, relating to both traumatic and degenerative conditions in the upper limb. His research interests include improving outcome following shoulder replacement surgery, rotator cuff surgery as well as shoulder instability surgery.
Mr Moaveni provides opinion for medico-legal matters on damages proceedings, diagnosis, consistency of condition with stated cause, current and future fitness for work and prognosis. He is an accredited AMA 4 impairment assessor.
