Professor Mark Polizzotto is a consultant Haematologist, Senior Staff Specialist at The Canberra Hospital, Professor of Medicine in the College of Health and Medicine at the Australian National University (ANU), and head of the ANU Clinical Hub for Interventional Research (CHOIR).

Professor Polizzotto trained in medicine at the University of Western Australia, and completed research honours at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute, University of Melbourne. He completed his specialty training in internal medicine, clinical and laboratory haematology at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. He then completed further subspeciality training with a focus on immunotherapy for lymphoproliferative disorders and cancers of immunodeficiency including HIV at the National Cancer Institute, U.S. National Institutes of Health, along with a doctorate (PhD) through the University of Melbourne.

He is internationally recognised for his contributions to the field of haematology, HIV, and viral malignancies, having contributed to clinical guidelines and led multiple international clinical trials in immunotherapies and advised the Australian and other governments through expert panel memberships. He is committed to advancing care through clinical research, with over 100 peer-reviewed publications in the leading international journals including Blood, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Lancet, Nature Medicine, and the New England Journal of Medicine.

Professor Polizzotto is able to provide reports in medicolegal cases with emphasis on medical negligence matters.
